Our Academic Leaders were involved in the Pitch Perfect public speaking workshop with Young Leaders Academy. They learnt breathing strategies, strategies for structuring a speech, tips for keeping their audience engaged, as well as getting involved in a variety of different speaking games. It was great to see our students talking with passion and confidence about a variety of topics and supporting their peers through any nerves using the strategies that they had learnt. It was great to see both quiet and confident boys having a go at public speaking in front of the group, and hopefully you will see the boys contributing and presenting in class with greater self- awareness in the coming weeks.

The Junior Sports Leaders Award, aka Reach for the Stars is a unique accredited Award that utilises the popular school concept of sports leading to develop future leaders.
Most Primary Schools have sports or activity leaders. They have the responsibility to play with younger children and get the playground active.
It’s a popular role with real potential to:Â

How Does It Work?
Every school wants their sports leaders to deliver high-impact sports and physical activity in the playground.
And every school leader knows that static playgrounds are not good for anyone.
It’s a missed opportunity to get children active, mentally ready for class, social interaction and learning through play.
The challenge is most schools have Sports Leaders but the reality is they are often short of support, run out of ideas, get bored or just don’t know what to do.
The Reach for the Stars is a structured, comprehensive program that gives your sports leaders real-life, hands-on experiential learning. They will learn through inquiry and practice:Â

This Award takes a student from no prior knowledge of sports leading to independently develop and deliver their own playground activities and eventually organise a whole year group or school sports event.
How Is It Delivered?
We train your teacher(s) to deliver the Award. They get full support throughout delivery and they get access to our online Learning Centre which contains teacher resources, video lessons, rubrics, powerpoints and lesson plans.
This makes delivering the Junior Sports Leaders Award easy and sustainable.
The training is designed to upskill any member of staff, whether they do or don’t have prior PE or Sports knowledge.
Once your school is registered, staff will have access to Teacher Training, Online Learning Centre, Award Management tools, Assessments and Accredited Certification.

Accreditation
The Reach for the Stars Junior Sports Leaders Award is quality assured and accredited by Open Awards. Open Awards are an OFQUAL registered accreditation authority in the UK.
This Award carries the nationally recognised Badge Of Excellence quality assurance mark.
Every student who achieves this Award receives a digital certificate issued by us and accredited by Open Awards. Printed certificates can also be sent for a small additional fee.
When schools are registered they automatically become a Young Leaders Academy Leadership Development Centre. They can gain our Leadership Status Quality Mark which goes from Bronze through to Platinum Plus. Â
Assessment
To ensure the integrity of this Award a small sample of your students Learner Records will be assessed by our Quality Assurance team before the issuance of certificates.
Once the Assessment is complete your certificates are immediately available to download via the online Learning Centre.
Each certificate will contain the students full name, date of completion, Award name and accredited logos and signatures.

Pricing
To access and deliver our Awards learner fees (also known as licenses) must be settled in advance of your delivery start date.
To ensure everything is done in a timely matter without delays, please send your Purchase Order number and finance team details when requested.Â
There is a minimum of 10 learners and no upper limit.
There are no extra or hidden fees. We charge a simple flat fee per Learner and it includes all teacher training, support, assessment and certificates.
- 10 Learners = £100 per Learner
- 11-30 Learners = £85 per Learner
- 31-100 Learners = £70 per Learner
- 100+ Learners = Please enquire
